Our School Service
Why students might come to counselling
The two types of service we offer
Qualified Service
A qualified counsellor will to come in to your school and work with students and/or staff to offer either 1:1 counselling sessions or group sessions.
Trainee Service
Trainee counsellors who are either still in training and or working towards their accreditation, will come in and offer students and/or staff 1:1 counselling sessions.
We provide all of our counsellors with DBS checks, insurance, supervision and ongoing CPD training specific to working with young people across the years. They also have constant access to clinical and administration support from London Young Counselling.
Some points you need to know about our service
-
LYC counsellors are assigned to a school to provide 1:1 counselling sessions for school students and/or staff.
-
LYC counsellors can work with students aged from 4-19.
-
LYC counsellors are able to provide confidential 1:1 sessions for staff.
-
Counselling sessions run along side the times of scheduled lessons.
-
We tailor the service to each individual school.
-
By building relationships with staff and students, we aim to become a wider part of the existing pastoral team.
-
Counsellors come equipped with their own resources.
-
Counsellors are sent in by London Young Counselling and therefore London Young Counselling are liable for all paperwork, including an up to date DBS and insurance.
